We maintain a small flock of Shetland sheep on our farm. Our Shetland sheep are sweet and friendly. We are proud to display a variety of colors and markings in our flock. Our children show Shetland sheep at the County, State and National levels.
Shetland sheep are a heritage breed and are on the watch level for the National Livestock Conservancy. They are hardy foragers, have great mothering skills, and are very docile.
We have a variety of goats ranging from Alpine, Pygmy, Angora, and Boer crosses here are Westwind Farms. Our children show their goats in 4-H and enjoy them as pets.
We have a small rabbitry consisting of Giant, French, and Satin Angora rabbits. We raise them for wonderful fiber, shows, and pets. Angora rabbits are very docile, friendly, and curious.
Also, we have a few New Zealand rabbits that we raise for 4-H projects.
